Our name says it all. Wilmot Care Center celebrates the relationships and "unions" between our many programs and services, as well as the connection between our children and seniors that we foster in our intergenerational environment. Our continuum of care and our positive experiences allow us to "live" life to the fullest with our "community" of those who receive service and those who serve.

Susan Zirbel, Director of Nursing
I have been the Director of Nursing at Wilmot Care Center since February 16th 2012. I went to Presentation College in Aberdeen,
SD for Registered Nurse training and graduated in May of 1982. I worked at Lake Area Hospital in Webster after graduation for the
next 15 years. I stayed PRN at the Hospital and went to work at Bethedsa Nursing Home in Webster for 15 years, working full time
night shift. The position at Wilmot Care Center is my first day job. I have been married to Ferdy Zirbel for 31 years. We have 13
children and 10 grandchildren.
Cathy Rensberger, Social Services
As a young
child riding my bicycle down to play in Grampa Ammann's field, I never envisioned that one day that field would be the sight of the
Wilmot Care Center.
My role as Activity Coordinator has brought tremendous rewards allowing me to share birthdays, holidays and special moments in
the lives of the facility family. The activity staff provide a schedule of games, musical activities, parties, religious groups
and of course bingo. Karen Hanson, Courtney Hansen, Elizabeth Fasy, and Melinda Quade do a wonderful job filling the resident's
days with enjoyable activities. Working in Social Services enables me to be part of the admission process for residents. Having
the opportunity to assist in the adjustment to what may become their permanent home or making strides in preparation for returning
to their previous life is rewarding.
Mike Davis, Environmental Services Manager
I was hired in May of 2015. The environmental service manager includes the maintenance of grounds and building, housekeeping and laundry.
Cindy Lewno, MDS Coordinator
I am the MDS coordinator at
the Wilmot Care Center since June of 2014. I went to nursing training in 1999 when our middle daughter was going to college for
nursing. She informed me she was glad I was going to college but she would like me to go to a college other than the one in Brookings.
I received my LPN from Lake Area Vocational school in Watertown SD. My RN degree is from USD. During assessments I was diagnosed with
thyroid cancer, so I owe my life to nursing. I have been cancer free for 14 years.
I have three grown and married children. I am
blessed with three grandchildren. My husband is Mike, we have lived in the Wilmot area since 1982. We had dairy cattle until 2001.
I worked as a RN at Sisseton Hospital for 14 years. There I worked in the emergency room, delivery room and patient care.
Erik Baron , Dietary Manager
My name is Erik Baron; I am the Dietary Manager at the Wilmot Care Center. I have been employed by the Wilmot Care Center since May 2015
and am currently enrolled in online classes to become the CDM for the facility.
I have worked in the Food Service profession for 14 years. My previous work background has been working at a hospital in the Food Service Department where
I started as a Dietary Aide passing resident meals, became the night lead worker and then held the position of baker.
After that I accepted a position with a large contract management company that served two meals a day with a full service cafeteria offering grill, deli
and pizzas to order; along with a planned entrée each day. During my employment here I accepted the Chef Manager position where I overseen all areas.
My most recent employment prior to my current position, I held the position of Dietary Manager at a criminal corrections facility where I was responsible
for the dietary operation. There we prepared three meals a day for 100-140 residents.
I very much enjoy the time that I am able to get to know the residents and the staff at the Wilmot Care Center. Everyday is a learning experience
and journey in making a difference in the lives of the individuals that we care for here. If you would ever like to stop by and visit feel free.
